Amy

Dental Hygienist

Originally from Philadelphia, Amy attended Harcum College for hygiene school; after graduation in the late 1990s, she realized she loved living on the Main Line and has remained here since! She played at ‘dentist’ as a child and would make her little brother be her patient. As Amy says: “I’m born to be a hygienist”! Her hobbies include yoga, cooking, gardening, and reading- She even has a little library book box in front of her house. When not working she likes to hang out with her husband, stepson, 2 cats and a dog. Her favorite part about being a hygienist is getting to know her patients and having a chance to help them improve their health. Amy is very super excited to join Dr. Shoumer and the high-quality team of professional women at the office.

Andrea

Dental Hygienist

Andrea has been a hygienist for more than 20 years. She has always had a love for dentistry and for providing excellent care for her patients. She is thrilled to be part of Dr. Shoumer’s staff. “Everyone is very welcoming in the office and I have developed a strong rapport with my patients. I see Dr. Shoumer’s dedication to her patients, who feel a sense of pride upon completion of their treatment,” she says. Andrea looks forward to many years ahead as part of the team!

Andrea is married with three children and two very active German Shorthaired Pointers. In her free time, she enjoys her family and watching her kids play sports. She enjoys cooking and is forever in the kitchen. She is addicted to new cookbooks and trying recipes!

Justine

Office Operations Manager

Justine has been in the dental field for the past 9 years and has successfully engaged in multiple roles throughout that time. She has experience as a Dental Assistant, in the OR, as a Patient Coordinator, and with Dental Sleep Medicine as well as in Practice Marketing. Justine loves helping patients in any way she can and enjoys working as part of the Shoumer team to resolve patient needs. Outside of the office, Justine likes to spend time with her family and keeps busy chasing after her daughter, twin baby boys, 2 pups and cat.

Karen

Expanded Function Dental Assistant

Karen began working in the field in 1986 as a dental assistant, then continued her education at Harcum College in 2007 to get her EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) license. She takes great pride in patient care and continuing education. What Karen likes most about our practice is that everyone that works here is like one big family and we all get along. As for patients, seeing how happy they are when they leave here with a new smile is the best feeling. It really makes the day exciting!

Karen lives in Wayne with her husband Chris and her Maine Coon cats. On most weekends she spends time with the Valley Forge Audubon Society on guided bird walks all over beautiful Chester County. She also enjoys spending time with her daughter Lindsay, photography, the beach, and gardening.

Lindsay

Dental Assistant

Lindsay graduated from Cabrini University in 2019 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Creative Writing. Lindsay has been around dentistry her whole life and has always had an interest in the field. Dr. Shoumer and her mother, Karen, (an EFDA in this office) have been amazing mentors as Lindsay further develops her skills and experience as a Dental Assistant. Outside of the office, Lindsay likes to spend time with her family, boyfriend and her cats. She enjoys shopping and taking walks around the Chesterbrook trails.

Marcia

Business Manager

As the owner of Geary Medical Management, Marcia handles finance and marketing and other business issues as they arise. Dr. Shoumer has been a client of GMM since it opened in 2013. Marcia keeps busy outside of the office with her consulting company, as well as her husband and their blended family of six children, all at various stages of their busy lives!
