Invisalign is a time-proven system of clear aligners which shape your smile, one movement at a time, over time. They are built based on over 20 years of research and product development, and the company continues to pursue new technologies to improve your patient experience. At last count, Invisalign has treated over 5 million smiles across the world…and that number of happy patients continues to grow!
Invisalign trays are made with SmartTrack material, which is custom molded to your teeth. All the trays are trimmed to avoid discomfort and to move your teeth in the manner as coordinated by Dr. Shoumer and Align Technology. Since you can remove the trays, maintaining excellent oral hygiene at home and at your dental visits is easy.
After your impression is taken, it takes about 5-6 weeks for your trays to be manufactured and arrive in our office. You will come in to have these first aligners delivered to you, along with instructions for care, and answers to any of your treatment questions. Subsequently, you will be seen in our office every six weeks to receive additional aligners, for short appointments. There are no emergency or poking wire appointments!
Not at all! They are practically invisible, and easily removable for eating and drinking. It is recommended you wear them 20-22 hours per day, and this is very achievable, while still allowing you to pursue all of your normal daily activities. If you want to remove them for a special social or professional occasion, go ahead! You can be yourself while straightening your teeth, without a reason to hide your smile.
Invisalign costs essentially the same as braces. We offer interest free payment plans over the length of your aligner treatment. We also submit to your insurance company to help you receive your full orthodontic benefits.
At the end of your treatment, we want to make sure that you are happy with the results, and will discuss if you need additional treatment, called “refinement” (this is at no extra cost). When you are satisfied with your new smile, we order a retainer from Invisalign called Vivera, and this will be worn at night to retain the position of the teeth.
