Andrea has been a hygienist for more than 20 years. She has always had a love for dentistry and for providing excellent care for her patients. She is thrilled to be part of Dr. Shoumer’s staff. “Everyone is very welcoming in the office and I have developed a strong rapport with my patients. I see Dr. Shoumer’s dedication to her patients, who feel a sense of pride upon completion of their treatment,” she says. Andrea looks forward to many years ahead as part of the team!
Andrea is married with three children and two very active German Shorthaired Pointers. In her free time, she enjoys her family and watching her kids play sports. She enjoys cooking and is forever in the kitchen. She is addicted to new cookbooks and trying recipes!
Karen began working in the field in 1986 as a dental assistant, then continued her education at Harcum College in 2007 to get her EFDA (Expanded Function Dental Assistant) license. She takes great pride in patient care and continuing education. What Karen likes most about our practice is that everyone that works here is like one big family and we all get along. As for patients, seeing how happy they are when they leave here with a new smile is the best feeling. It really makes the day exciting!
Karen lives in Wayne with her husband Chris and her Maine Coon cats. On most weekends she spends time with the Valley Forge Audubon Society on guided bird walks all over beautiful Chester County. She also enjoys spending time with her daughter Lindsay, photography, the beach, and gardening.
Lauren has been in the medical field since 2014. Her ability to adapt quickly and caring personality make her a perfect fit for our office. Lauren has two cats, Luna and Lucky. She is an avid Philadelphia sports fan, enjoys yoga and Taylor Swift, and is a cheerleading coach. Lauren loves spending time with family and friends, and making memories with her five nieces and nephews.
Lindsay developed an early interest in the dental field, often mimicking her mother’s career by setting up her American Girl dolls as “patients”! Both Dr. Shoumer and Karen (an EFDA in our office) have been significant mentors throughout her career. Lindsay assists with complex dental procedures and takes pride in providing meticulous support to ensure the highest quality of patient care. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her fiancé and their two cats, Pepper and Peach, as well as exploring local trails and shopping.
As an experienced dental hygienist, Monica combines professional proficiency with her positive attitude and a genuine concern for her patients well being. She and her husband and four children are active members of the Main Line community.
